Sonamarg...!!!!



Highlights:


The journey to Sonamarg is through the Sindh Valley which offers yet another spectacular view of countryside in Kashmir. Located at an altitude of 9000 ft above Sea level. Sonamarg is also known by the name 'The meadow of gold' due to its appearance, snowy mountains againist a cerulean sky.

Sonamarg is considered as the center of major trek that passess along mountain lakes like Vishansar, Kishansar, Satsar, Gasar& Gangabal. It is also the take off station for the journey to Ladakh across the Zojila, a major pass in the Great Himalayan Range, through which the Srinagar-Leh Road passes.

Pahalgam


Highlights:

Located at the confluence of the streams flowing from Sheshnag Lake and the Lidder river. Pahalgam has an excellent scenic beauty with breathtaking views. In todays world, Pahalgam occupies at the top the Kashmir tourism Package. The undulating meadow of Baisaran valley beautified by thickly wooded forests of Pine. Another picnic spot in Pahalgam is Chandanwari. Movie makers eye easily catch this destination, the extravagant scenary has been the location of several movie shots.

Pahalgam is also associated with the annual Amarnath Yatra. Chandanwari is the starting point of the yatra that takes place every year in the month July or August. Pahalgam has a well connected road to Chandanwari but from there onwards the track becomes much steeper, and is accessible on foot or by pony. Chandanwari offers a spectacular view of the mountain lake of Sheshnag and Panchtarni. The Amarnath cave is around 20 Km from Chandanwari.

Leh-Ladakh

Highlights

Ladakh, the far-flung eastern part of Jammu& Kashmir state, is India's most remote& sparsely populated region, a high altitude snow desert sandwitched by the Karakoram Mountain range on the North& Great Himalaya to the south. Ladakh has an extravagant Scenic beauty. Ladakh covers an area of 1,00,000 sq kms& often called 'Mini Tibet', because of its topographical and cultural similarities with neighbouring Tibet. In the early days, Ladakh played an important role being strategically placed at the crossroads of important trade routes to Central Asia.  Kashmir has four distanct seasons. Each has its peculiar characteristics& they are:

 Spring- Extends roughly from March to early May. The weather during this time can be gloriously pleasant at 23 deg cel chilly& windy at 6 deg cel. This is the season when Srinagar experiences rains, but the showers are brief.

Summer- Extends from May to August. The day temperatures range from 25 to 35 deg cel& at this time, the whole valley is a mosaic of varying shades of green - rice fields, meadows, trees, etc.

Autumn- the loveliest season of Kashmir, reaches towards September when green turns to gold and then to russet later to red. Temperature may range from 23 deg& dip to 10 deg by October.

Winter- Starts from December to the beginning of March. Snow covered landscapes shows the winter beauty.
