Rishikesh River Rafting

Highlights:

Rafting is usually done in a rubber boat known as Raft and the rafting is being carried in rapids formed by river. Rafting rapids are graded from 1 to 6 depending on the ease, with which they can be navigated, with 1 being the easiest.

Grade 3 rapids are most popular in tourist rafters at Rishikesh. Grade 3 rafting starts from Marine Drive to Shivapuri that extends 10 Km. Tourist can also go for 16 Km rafting which starts from Shivapuri& ends at Rishikesh (Ram Jhula).  This rafting categorized as Grade 4 and visitors will get an opportunity for Cliff Jumping. Athirapally Water falls

Yercaud Tourism

Highlights:

Yercaud is a hill station near Salem , Tamil Nadu on the Shervary hills of the Eastern Ghats . Locates at an altitude of 4900 feet above sea level. The town gets its name from the lake located at its center - in Tamil Yeri means Lake and Kaadu means Forest. Yercaud is known for Coffee and citrus fruits, most notably oranges, are grown in abundance apart from bananas, pears and jack. Scenically, Yercaud is as enchanting and picturesque as the hill stations on the Western ghats and trekking here can be one of the most pleasurable ways to pass time.

This quiet little hill station on the Shevaroy hills of the Eastern ghats is the only one of its kind in northern Tamil Nadu. Yercaud presents a welcome contrast with its cool climate where temperature never rises above 30 deg cel&  dip below 13 deg cel .

The highest point in Yercaud is the Servarayan temple, located at a height of 5320 feet. Hence the Yercaud hill area is called Shevaroy Hills.

  •     The Shervary Temple: Located 5320 feet above sea level, the annual festival of Lord Shervaroyan is celebrated in May every year.
  •     Bear’s Cave: Situated near the Norton’s Bungalow and is considered as one of the abodes of Lord Murugan.
  •   Pagoda Point: Another vantage view point; once adorned with stone built pagodas.

Hogenakkal Waterfalls


Highlights:


Hogenakkal is famous for watefalls, a quiet& beautiful place and is a good picnic spot. Its water is believed to have curative powers as the Kaveri River flows through a forest of herbs on its journey to Hogenakkal. Taking a bath in the waterfalls of Hogenakkal is considered as extremely beneficial for the health. It is also known as the ‘Niagara’ fall of India is not a single waterfalls but a series of falls. It delivers spectacular view to tourists.


Hogenakkal is considered as one of the most beautiful places in the state. The broad stream of Kaveri river gets splits at this point, forming an island from where one stream continues on while the other plunges in to deep chasm to create one of the mind blowing waterfalls, giving these rocks the name Hogenakkal which means “smoking rock”.

Hogenakkal offers long treks in the nearby vicinity of Melagiri Hills and the visitors can explore the lush, rugged& evergreen beauty of Hogenakkal. It is also a popular site among the film makes. There are many film songs that shot at this location.

A visit to the Hogenakkal  is incomplete without taking a ried in the waterproof basket boats covered in plastic stretched over light-weight wicker frames. These boats are locally known as Teppa& are among the oldest water crafts in the world. The boat man steer the boats through the rapids of rising water giving you the thrilling experience. The boat ride offers tourist extravagant scenic beauty of Hogenakkal.
